I joined the fit4life group because I wanted to see how I could improve my wellbeing and running times by paying more attention to my diet and training. Following the programme I made some changes to the food I ate and trained specifically for a marathon in October. Throughout the training I had more energy than I had previously and was able to follow the training plan more closely. In the marathon I ran my best time yet and was just 45 seconds outside a time that would have given me a ‘good for age’ entry into the London marathon. As an added bonus 2 weeks after the marathon I ran a 7 mile race and won second lady in my age category. The first time I have won anything in a race.
